Alberta Wage and Salary Survey

<< Back to Glossary

The Alberta Wage and Salary Survey is an employer survey reporting wages across a wide number of occupations.  Alberta Labour in partnership with Alberta Culture and Tourism, and the Government of Canada, commissioned the 2015 Alberta Wage and Salary Survey.

The Alberta Wage and Salary Survey is conducted every 2 to 3 years to gather information from employers on wages and salaries for full-time and part-time employees in Alberta. The information is broken down by occupational, geographic area and industry group.

By providing accurate wage data, the government can help industry make informed compensation decisions and develop competitive hiring policies. Other uses include wage negotiation and providing career advice. The survey results will also be used as information for many government initiatives and enquiries related to the provincial labour force.
